Attending Heine Bros. Street Party
Friday, October 16th, 2009Unfortunately I wasn’t able to catch much of the 15th Anniversary Street Party at Heine Brothers’ Coffee. I wanted to go for about 1-1/2 hours, but ended up only making it for the last 30 minutes. The great coffee (of course it was great, it’s Heine Bros.) and good music made it seem like it really wasn’t 44 degrees outside. It’s 9:57 p.m. and just about everyone that was here for the party has left, which doesn’t surprise me since it’s a Friday night. It was busy enough when I got here that there wasn’t any sitting room and the line went out the door to get a cup of coffee. Although that’s usually not a problem, I was glad too see all the business Heine Bros. was getting. I think Mike Mays was there; I didn’t talk to him, but he seems like a very friendly and caring guy, talking about some of the photos from trips to other countries that are hanging up in the Longest Avenue location. I overheard him say he thought around 200 people showed up. I really didn’t have any expectation of how many people were going to attend, but that sounds like a good number to me. If you weren’t there, you missed out. Make it up to yourself and go buy a cup of Heine Brothers’ Coffee!
